L’objectif de ce colloque est d’étudier deux phénomènes, le contact (c’est à dire la rencontre entre les cultures et/ou les langues dans un espace donné ou une époque) et la migration, et la manière dont ces deux phénomènes influencent la littérature, la culture et la langue dans le monde français et francophone. Nous cherchons des propositions de communications sur les sujets suivants, mais cette liste n’est pas exhaustive :
• Brassage, mixité et société de migrants
• Écriture migrante, diaspora, exil
• Hétérogénéité linguistique et littéraire
• Identités, métissages, heurts et/ou harmonie
• Migration et société marchande
• Mobilité dans l'espace d'accueil
• Traduction ou l´auto-traduction
• Calques, emprunts
• Contact linguistique et « pureté »
• Alternance de code et diglossie
• Dialectologie
Nous sollicitons les propositions des chercheurs (master, doctorat) de divers horizons (histoire, linguistique, littérature, anthropologie, sociologie, philosophie, etc.). Les propositions devraient toucher à une source française ou francophone. Les communications peuvent être en français ou en anglais et ne devraient pas dépasser 20 minutes. Veuillez envoyer les propositions d’environ 250 mots, votre affiliation institutionnelle, et vos cordonnées avant le 1 janvier 2017 à lsufrenchconference@gmail.com.

Migrations and Contacts in the French and Francophone World
The LSU Department of French Studies
The 11th Annual Graduate Student Association Conference
The goal of this conference will be to address two phenomena, contact (that is to say, the meeting between cultures and/or languages in a given space or era) and migration, and how they have had an influence on literature, culture, and language in the French and Francophone world. Some topics to consider:
• Mixing, integration and the society of immigrants
• Immigrant writing, diaspora, exile
• Linguistic and/or literary variety
• Identities, métissages, conflict or harmony
• Immigration and capitalist society
• Mobility in the country of immigration
• Translation or self-translation
• Calques, borrowings
• Language contact and “purity”
• Code-switching and diglossia
• Dialectology
We invite submissions from current graduate students that address, expand on, and interpret the issues and questions raised here. We encourage papers from a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to: History, Linguistics, Literature, Anthropology, Sociology, and Philosophy, to name a few. Abstracts should have a connection to French or Francophone studies. Presentations may be in either French or English and should not exceed 20 minutes in length. Please send a 250-word abstract, as well as your university affiliation and contact information by 1 January 2017 to: lsufrenchconference@gmail.com.
